On Wednesday, April 8th, we will be tasting a new cigar that is very like the old original Dunhill. Eric Stokkebey, the owner of the company and son of Peter Stokkeybe, will be there to talk to every one. The Smoking Lamp will also have special pricing on beer. Lola assures me that it should be a great deal of fun!

The tasting will be from 5pm to 8pm. The store is located just across from Marion Square at 401 King Street. If you need more information, you can give them a call at (843) 577-7339.

I gotta admit it, I love my sister. She is a great person. Really! And I am not just saying that because of the gift she gave me. But, while we are talking about that, look at this.

Rare Madeira

These were gifts from my sister over the past two years for birthday’s and Christmas with the last bottle being for this 2008 Christmas.  They are rare Madeiras that are a series of three. One for Charleston, one for New York, and one for Boston.

The description for the Charleston bottle alone is “Charleston Sercial celebrates the refined, delicate Madeiras that the 18th- and 19th-century Charlestonians prized. Like any great vintage Sercial, this jewel miraculously balances power and delicacy, with a room filling bouquet and long, velvety palate that finishes with an ethereally dry tanginess. With its nutty, tangy flavors, and its relative dryness, it is not only a wonderful aperitif, it is superb with soups, cheeses, and many other foods.”

So, now can you see why I say my sister is great? Now all I have to do is decide when to drink them and what to smoke with them. Decisions, decisions…

Are you up for a Cigar and Pizza Event?

Saturday, November 15th, from 12 noon to 5 pm,  Kingston Tobacco is having a day of cigars, football, pizza and more at their store in Summerville on 1525 Old Trolley Road. They’ll have the games on at both the cigar shop and the restaurant, with the main event at the restaurant.

They will be featuring “The God Daughters” to help promote their new private label cigar – Godfathers Cigars – and introducing JR’s pizza – coming soon to the area.

Try a Godfathers cigar and a slice of pizza for  just $10. You’ll be able to taste JR’s pizza (supposedly the best pizza you’ve ever tried) and can order by the slice (1/4 pie slice $3)or the pie (large 14 inch for $10).

If you’re into football, come join them for Clemson vs. Duke followed by South Carolina vs. Florida.

They will also have beer specials, wing specials and more!
